Default Camshaft position sensor reinstall - does this look right?

With a new o-ring on, it sort of sits cockeyed.

I was going to compare to mine, but I don't have that shield covering mine at all. It does look crooked to me.

It's not really a shield, it's a clamp that holds it in. If you don't have it, how is your CPS staying in place?

just the bolt will hold it...clamp is helpful to distribute force. That is wonky. Try it without O ring to test fit.

Without the o-ring it fits great, in fact, didn’t even have an o-ring when I removed it, though it was also weeping oil…

weeping oil could be from too much crankcase pressure. Have you installed the PVC mod and removed the old baffle?

I would try either no o-ring and a little RTV, or a thinner o-ring. I've honestly never seen an o-ring on those to be honest.

Interesting. I guess I can compare this to my 2004 too and see... I was certainly surprised to see there wasn't an o-ring, so I looked it up to see if there should be. I didn't see anything definitive other than an o-ring being sold specifically for the CPS. ERR4815G. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't believe there's an o-ring on there originally.
