Default buy it back

Not sure how it works in Canada, but in the US when an insurance co totals a car, the owner has the right to purchase it from the company.

I would bet the engine is worth more than the pay off.

I live in Canada and when my friend crashed my vintage bike, I wanted to get as much to repair it as possible.

When I complained we weren't getting enough, I was told it was right on the verge of being totaled, and then it would be sold at an auction without any chance to buy it back unless I placed a bid like everyone else.

Don't know if it was a scare tactic but we shut up and took what they offered.

What color and trim level was your 2004 Disco?

not sure about the buyout as they gave me good money for it but if I had the space I would try and buy it out

Sorry for the loss. How do you not see the 6 foot tall car side on?
I'm in Toronto. Might be interested in parts. Always wanted some of those cupholders…
