I'd guess somebody put grease on the stub axle splines on re-assembly, or greased the crap out of the hub bearings.

I too was going to say a flopping around brake pad.

like i said before shock bushings on mine were bad.i too could not recreate the sound by bouncing it.now that i installed a supergas suspension its not clunking in strait line.
shortly after completing the work i noticed the drivers side front wheel had just alittle
play in it do to a bad ball joint went ahead and replaced that as well and have not heard a clunking since.

did you have to replace the bushings in that radius arm only and how did you discover it...?

I just tightened it. It was wear it attached to the Axle I just grabbed it and shook it, and THOUGHT I felt a little play, tightened the rear bolt and it's gone.

sweet, thanks for the quick reply, i have to put my driveshaft back on tomorrow and I will check all nuts and bolts for tightness then...

I had a piece of gear in my transfer case and would clunk and bind especially backing up. Changed case and gone.
