Default Can't find kickdown cable adjustment in RAVE

Title pretty much sums it up. I got a '00 Disco II. It up shifts late and downshifts only if I give a hefty pulse on the gas pedal. The latter usually happens after slowing down or coming to a stop.

anyways after some research and a trans fluid change (the fluid was still semi red and clear) I'm hoping the culprit is an out of adjustment kickdown cable.

can someone please tell me where in the RAVE manual the adjustment directions are? I've read through the engine/throttle/and auto gearbox sections and couldn't find anything. Maybe I don't have an updated version so if someone could post a link to the final version please.

thank you

The transmission in these is electronically controlled, so you are not going to find that cable. It is covered in the description of the transmission in the Rave.

I was worried about it being controlled by the EAT. Seeing as how I couldn't find a part number for a kickdown cable either.

But nope not in sport mode. Besides it wouldn't explain the no gear when I come to a stop. If I slow down to a stop at a stop sign from 35+ mph, when I hit the throttle to proceed I have no gear. I have to rev up the engine to 1500+ real quick then it drops down into gear and I can accelerate again.

Yup I literally just learned how to search for words and phrases on iPhone and read that portion.

Any input on my situation I mention in the above reply? I need some milk/help.

did you follow the correct directions for filling the transmission -- i.e. to do it with the engine running?

Hmm I did not fill it with the engine running because I drained my oil at the same time.

How much fluid is it missing with it being filled without running? I read it's 5qts for ATF drain and fill. If I recall correctly it took about 5qts.

@Irri4894 Possibly a quart or more it has to filled and checked with the engine running.

Whatever you do not remove the drain plug with engine off or turn off the engine until the drain is plug is back in.

I think Richard meant to say do not remove the filler plug with the engine off or turn off the engine until the filler plug is back in.

Been there. Done that.
