I looked at an 04 disco for sale today and i love the truck but the shifter to lock the diff is frozen.It shifts from hi to low no problem but it wont budge to lock the diff.I really want to buy this truck but this one problem does concern me.

Frozen cable, common from not being used.
If you buy the truck, lube the cable with PB Blaster or something, if it is still seized buy a new cable.

 

Take the Disco to another shop and have then perform a pre-purchase inspection and get an estimate on repairing the CDL which you should have the selling dealer fix before you buy it.
