cant get my 2001 discovery series 2 td5 diesel automatic out of sports mode please help! i got it back from the mechanic and it wont come out of sports mode.

 

First off, what did the mechanic do? Did he, say, take off the shifter cover and forget to reconnect the plug?

Second, try putting it in low range and see if you have the same problem with manual mode. Chances are, your issue is either the mode switch or a low voltage problem with the TCU.

 

Did you try pressing the mode switch at the gear shift lever? Or you can disconnect the battery and it'll reset.
