Question Can't open hood anymore... Help!

I just cleaned up my mess from the service I did and wanted to check the oil level one more time. When trying to pop the hood it felt like the cable snapped. There is no more resistance when pulling the little latch... How can I open the hood now?? Does anybody have experience with this??

Thanks!

Dont panic, just drive it till it blows.

Have someone pull the hood release handle while you pick up on the hood.
Once you get it open lube the latch with white lithium grease, the spray kind.

Or a Sawzall® Reciprocating Saw will work well...just make sure you "sneak-up" on it and start with a small drill hole in the middle of your hood...IIPANCHOII can help with that...

start easy... check the connection of the cable right at the release handle, if thats good, it gets more difficult, but it can be done and wont cost much, if anything

Thanks guys for making me laugh!

The connection at the handle is good... So I guess it is a more difficult task! What is the next step?

Go see a good mechanic, once the cable fails, you have real problems with a D2's hood release.

Sigh.... Oh well... I gues there's no DIY on this one... If anyone does know a way, let me know... I won't be taking it until next weekend.

Cheers!
