Car started swaying left and right after having a 2” lift...
Installed a 2” lift, Fox Shocks, OME HD springs with a 1” rear spacer.
Nothing crazy buy I can feel my truck swaying left and right. I basically need to be more alert than usual when I was driving.
what feels like driving on the sand or the front tires are lifted in the air and getting a little understeer... my steering just felt loose...
this only happens at freeway speed. the higher I go the more I felt the swaying...
I changed my steering dampener couple of months back and also changed the steering box.
Only thing I can think of is to get a new alignment...
any other ideas?
thanks

The lift has altered the suspension geometry. Were caster correcting arms installed? Based on your freeway speed experience, I suspect the answer is "No" as that wandering is a symptom of the caster being less than what you're used to.
Any idea what the fox shocks' valving is? Many times the valving is really high to control the sway. Are your sway bars still hooked up?

I’m experiencing this too, nothing serious at all more like “play in the steering wheel” - 2in Med terrafirma lift with steering dampener.
my new BFG Muds really grip and I feel that might make a difference as well.
I feel these might help.

Those might be next. Just trying to justify spending or not but I’m changing my ‘overland’ vehicle by March next year...
but I did a little test tonight. I took out all the extra weight in the trunk but left my RTT and drove on the freeway for 20 miles. And the swaying went away. I notice just a little sway, but it was almost unnoticeable...
i must’ve had 200 lbs on the back maybe... maybe 300 with my kid in the back.
here’s my conclusion of what I think it is...
my trunk was heavy that it lifted my front and I wasn’t getting enough grips that there was a mini understeer.
i think if I had a medium front spring, it would give me a bit of downforce but these HD might be too stiff.
I’m gonna add a winch and hi-lift jack on the bumper and see how that goes...
