Default Carbon on Valves

I am still working on the noise from my Disco II. Does anybody know of a process to de-carbonize the valves without pulling the heads? I understand that the valves have a tendency to carbon up in the Disco II and cause spark-knock.
I would like to try and correct it with a proceedure that doesn't require the heads to be removed! If I need to take the heads off then my 2" lift money will be spent!

PM me with your tele number and I will call you and walk you thru a couple of issue that you can correct.
What octane gas have you been running?
D2's for the most part won't make a carbon knock noise.

If you are SURE that you are getting spark knock and you are using the correct gas then you need a new knock sensor.

That is kind of the problem. We don't know if it is a spark knock or not. It is either a Rocker, Lifter or worse. We don't have any loss in power that we can tell, the idle is smooth and the noise is there at all times. Sometimes it is louder then others, however it is always there. We haven't had a chance to pull the valve cover off yet and are looking for other ideas before we do so.
Is there a way to test for a knock sensor or is it easy to install where we should just replace it anyway?
