RE: Be careful with your mods
I remember seeing a picture of the aftermath, not too good. I don't get the this part
"the bracket close to the rear axle snapped" That was the cause of the rollover into the river. The article doesn't say if that was an area modded by the driver. In fact it doesn't mention any of the mods the driver had done to his vehicle.

RE: Be careful with your mods
"Some 30 defects were found on the four-wheel drive after the collision in Lincolnshire last year, including a failing hand brake, worn rear brake drums and shoes, a loose steering wheel and mismatched calipers."
"The engine came from another vehicle, the gearbox from a friend’s Land Rover and the rear axle from a fifth car."
"But the Frankenstein vehicle was a botched job. Its defects also included a badly fitted offside rear wheel, a misaligned trailing arm bracket and mismatched trailing links. On September 16 2007, it was a corroded hanger on the rear axle that snapped as Gresham tried to pass an on-coming vehicle at Tattershall Bridge"

I THINK THIS COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED...
