Carfax report needed
Hey everyone,
This is my first post. My 2001 Jeep Cherokee was totaled 2 weeks ago when I was hit. I've been searching around the state on Craigslist, the news paper, auto trader and e-bay for a Discovery in my price range. I have one on hold now about an hour and a half away. I was looking at it online and I've found some bad reviews about the dealership and I wanted to get a carfax report for it before I pay for it. 1 report costs $30 but I'm hoping there is someone here that has a multiple report account that is willing/nice enough to pull it up for me. It owuld be GREATLY GREATLY appreciated.

Alot of dealerships have a Carfax membership and will provide you one for free.
Carfax is not a guaruntee that nothing happened to the car, it only records things if there were entered into a computer.
If a indy shop worked on the truck and they didnt report it then it wont show up.
I thought a 1 time Carfax was $15. Did the price go up?

oh, I know it isn't a gurantee. I've driven the discovery twice and everything seems to be fine with it. no noises, no lights, doesn't pull or anything it just feels real solid. Interior is in awesome shape too. What concerns me is that carfax says that there are 32 records on it and I want to make sure that nothing major happened and recalls were performed if any were issued. The dealers website says that it is carfax guranteed but I still want to see some of it's history.
And yes, the prices for the carfax reports did go up.

Not knowing where you live...those reports could be the annual emissions inspection, things like that get reported, it could be oil changes at the dealer, those get reported too.
It could be a one owner who always hadit serviced at the dealer and 32 is the number of times the oil was changed in the time that they owned it.
Or it could have been in 28 accidents with 4 different owners.
Ask the dealer for a CarFax report, if they are offering the CarFax guarntee then they probally have a report that they will give you.
