Default cargo door problem?

I have a 2000 disco II. the cargo door sometimes opens sometimes it doesn't. The lock works and goes up and down. I tried the inside handle also the lock goes up put the door still doesn't open. I removed the inside panel and pushed down on the rod and sometimes that works but right now its not and the door will not open. I also used wd-40 on the outside handle and the lock itself on the inside and outside. When I used a screw driver to work the lock back and fourth after spraying it with wd-40 it seems to move more freely now but the door still.. will not open from either side most of the time. I'm wondering if the cable I see inside is loss our stretched out and how to tighten it if that's even the problem. Can someone please help me out with this so I can get the door working?

A large amount of problems are fixed by prying the LR emblem off the rear outside handle and soaking the lock with JP Blaster or a similar product. WD 40 is a lubricating not a penetrating oil, fine to use after everything is moving.

I removed the emblem also and used deep creek and deep creek on the parks i used wd-40 and still no luck I now thinking it might be a spring I have read that goes bad. I'm going to remove the lock if I can and check it out.

Bad actuator? Perhaps the door is still locked?

i just realized on the Land Rover itself when you open the cargo door there is a black v shaped plastic piece. looks like to support the doors weight when you close it our to keep it aligned. on the cargo door itself there are screw holes and its missing whatever is supposed to go into the v shaped black piece when the door is closed. does anyone know what the piece on the door itself is called that's missing???? I took the hole lock off cleaned it the used wd-40 and grease still well not open. takes me about 20 mins playing with it to get it to open somehow.

Ok I called Land Rover and its called a dove tail latch. it has a male side on the door and female side on the body of the Land rover that you can see with the cargo door open. I found the part but its around 55-65 bucks for it. If anyone knows where I can get a used one please let me know.
