Default Case of the missing air suspension?

I assumed this 2004 Disco HSE had air suspension since it has the button up front to raise the rear suspension.

Am I missing something or have the air bags been swapped with coils? I'm not mad at it because I like the simplicity. However, it seems like I should pull out all the air equipment to save room and weight. I can even find where the old air lines appear to have been cut off near the top of the coil.

converting to coils is not uncommon.

How does it ride? Those are some pretty old looking shocks.

I thought it rode good. Doesn't seem overly "bouncy" like you sometimes get with old shocks.

Its funny thought because the first time I drove it on the highway - I remember thinking it rode better than the new wrangler I was in recently. I thought it must be the air bags helping the ride. ( :

Are there any air components I should take out to save room and weight? Like the air compressor and I imagine there is a reservoir somewhere too.

the compressor is inside a box under the driver's side of the truck. i think there's a small reservoir in there too. that's really all there is to it aside from the air lines. it's not in anything's way so you don't save any room, and it really doesn't weigh very much.
