Default Cash for your Disco!

OK, if you have an old Land Rover Discovery that needs a head gasket job, the 3 amigos fixed and a myriad of other issues we discuss here every day, now may be the time to take advantage of the Cash for Clunkers program being offered at your local dealer! Hey, your Disco probably even qualifies for the bad gas mileage it gets as well!

Somehow I don't think anyone from this forum will be participating, no matter how bad off your Disco is, but I just had to post this! Are trucks may need repairs and be costly at certain times but we can't let go of them!

They are worth $4,500, my wife looked it up the other day when I was doing my head gaskets. I told her no. Now if the transmission were to go that would be a whole other story.

If you had the head gaskets done then you are willing to spend the $2000 for a used transmission.

I only paid $500 for my head gasket job including tools. Let's hope I don't ever get to that point though.

The security gaurd at the Gated Community I have been working in keeps offering me cash for my Disco.. He was up to $6,000 this morning...

I keep telling him that its not for sale, but seeing as I only paid $2,500 for it, it does make me smile!

Talking $4,500 for Land Rover

If you trade your Disco in in the cash for clunkers program you may get $4,500 toward the purchase of a new car, but the dealer is required to have the Disco recycled (crushed) within six months. I could never do that to my Disco. It's kind of like having your wife bumped off for the life insurance - come to think of it, I think I'd do that before turning my Disco in to the crusher.
