Important that all four plates have the exact same hole spacing so i drilled them together at one time

I am using both bolts on the radius arm the rear bolt anchored in the factory mounting maintaining oem distance from the rear of the radius arm the axle will pivot from that point making the adjustment in caster. The caster will be slightly more than oem which makes a lifted rig a bit more stable on the road. These two photos show the plates are center on the arm bolts at both setting the original hole and the adjusted hole, all four plates fit as designed. Now i just have to shape the plates around the axle, i already have a template. The new plates will be centered on the original two holes, the axle will rotate directly into the new adjusted hole

Please post pics when your done. It does seem to be a much cheaper method for those mechanically inclined.

Plates are built and fitted
the inside passenger side plate will need one more cut to fit around the track bar bracket
the bracket shape is not necessarily important what is important is the fact that all of the holes are centered in exactly the same fashion and measurement, they must be in the same arc on the adjustment side as you rotate the axle

Ingenuitive!
will you have to disassemble the front axle and drain fluid to weld that? And do you fuss with anything special welding To the axle housing; just mig it?

No reason to drain the axle welds will be on the flanges that hold the radius arms not on the axle itself. Both are mild steel. MIG welding will be adequate. The plates used on the Toyotas call only for stitch welds.

Got a late start today but it is on the ground just needs new nyloc nuts and u can take her for a spin

treat back side with 3 coats if high temp weld through primer
welded primed and painted

o

I took photos of the welding
Etc. Can't seem to locate them on the phone
welding was easy and came out nice using 75/25 gas .30 mig wire

i notched the factory bracket to allow fitting the new bolt just wide enough notch to allow to bushing to still be clamped in the factory bracket
You can see that in one of the photos above
