Default Cause of premature front tire wear? '02 Disco II

Ok sorry one more thing (don't mean to hog the forum) that I noticed when cleaning up my truck and getting ready to change the front left (driver) hub I noticed that my front tires are very near bald the left (driver) is worse than the right (passenger). The wear is worse on the inside than the outside of the tread. This sucks because these tires are only a little over a year though probably have 35,000 miles on them. It been a while since rotating them but still.

I have a bad left front hub but besides that what could be causing the excess wear? I want to get it fixed so my new tires I get do not suffer the same fate. I also get some front end wheel shake from between 40-50 mph but I attributed that to my hub. Are there any other problems I need to get looked at on this?

Also the tires are both at 30 psi.

get an alignment at a good shop that will check for worn suspension parts before doing the alignment, might want to also run a littler high PSI

One side worse than the other is usually alignment.
Worn center, if it's pretty even all the way around the tire, is over inflation.
If that's the case, then it could be more over inflated on the driver side than the passenger side.

What brand and size of tire, how often do you rotate them?
Get some air in them, should be closer to 40 pounds if you are looking for good wear.

These are worn on the inside so I guess it is my alignment. They are General cheapies that were all I could afford last year. I have to take it to get inspected next week so I will have the alignment done and get 2 new tires (and also keep u with getting my tires rotated). The problem really with this truck is that I put 40,000 miles on it in the last year commuting to school, such as life.

Most tires for our trucks are only rated for 40,000 or 50,000 miles. On occasion you'll see a tire rated 60,000 miles but not often. If you've put 40,000 on them in a year you have got your money out of those tires.

Any chance your truck has ACE. My truck does and after various trys with different air pressure and tires, the inside tread on the front always wears faster. Yes its always been aligned and i can only guess it does this as a result of the extra load applied by the torsion bar...Any other ACE guys notice this?

Bad guess, ACE in no way effects tire wear.

That is what I'm thinking, I drive way too much. The only issue I have is the rear tires are in much better shape and at the same pressure and everything.
