Default Cdl...

So, the D2 does ok in all wheel drive...until you wedge the ft end up...finally had to get pulled out...when I should NOT have needed to...I need a D1 donor and a bit of shop experience...I do so HATE re-inventing the wheel...SO, if anyone has any fun ideas, useful pointers, I'd be interested!
Thanks!
PS and I wasn't circumventing LOG Rd gates...either...

Hi, abran, it's a 2000...I was just reading about another CDL scenario...that D2 had a NON-locking T Case, I am far more fortunate...mine will lock...w/ an open end wrench and when not under 2 ft of muddy water...LOL!!!
Thanks!

Have you locked it before? 10mm, turn clockwise?

Did you front end up incident occur with the t case locked?

You can always add a D1 CDL shifter to stay out of the mud!

I've replaced the T-CASE & ft shaft, oh, yeah, not to mention the heads and radiator...I've crawled the thing...and yes, I've had it in 4 WHEEL DRIVE...I DO need the shifter outta a D1. I can find one, just wondering what the short-cuts/protocols/ et al are for the installation of said linkage...as I'm sure there are some ways better then others to do the installation...So, all tips are appreciated!
Also, i do seem to have trouble searching our FORUMS>>>so, if there's any good posts on the topic anyone knows about, I'd greatly appreciate any links...
Thanks!

Send me your email address, I have s PDF that explains it all. The PDF shows the way if you do not replace the hi lo housing, which means bending the linkage. But if you buy a CDL conversion with the hi lo housing, you don't need to do that.

Default Lucky 8 has an answer

I've got the same year disco, same problem. Got the Ashcroft CDL shift kit from Justin @ Lucky 8 and I now have a locking CDL! Really helps when the going gets tough. Great kit with an instructional video on YouTube. Highly recommended.

Hey, Is1morethanyou..., gotta admit, from an ease of doing and functionality, that does sound appealing...don't know exactly how cosmetically appealing that would turn out...did you do it that way? post a pic if you did and don't mind.
Thanks
