Default CDL Air Shifter

Has anyone tried one of the CM Air Shifter's? Found this while looking for shifter optionas as I'm about to convert my non-cdl to cdl and don't really want a D1 shifter and the price of the 04 is steep and hard to find. Anyone?

do what i did. screwed the nut over the cdl. JB welded ($4) a 13mm deep well socket ($3) and a harbor frieght wobble extension ($7) on top cut a hole in the console and it sits flush under the rubber mat. just click it in and out when i need it. total cost whopping $14. or you can be crazy and buy some air powered $400 solenoid. personally im broke so i went the most simple way possible.

Have seen a couple similar designs..not bad. Was just curious as I can copy that design for a whole lot less meaning the CM. Really not much to it. I was just curious about the dependability of one of these gizmo's. Plus I have the new transfer case sitting on the bench so I look at it alot thinking "I should be able to design something and not spend 350 bucks". It's just a lever.

texmbr,

there are a couple of videos on utube of this shifter in action, accually its a motorcycle air shifter converted. I liked it, the only thing I was not sure of is if the CDL lever or the shifter is spring loaded to return. If it is; you would have to have air to the shifter the whole time it is locked. If not you only need air for a split secound, I was think I could probablly get away with the air compressor from my SLS system in that case.

I did watch those and no doubt very similar to the air shifter on my son's GSXR. Looks to be a single action so constant pressure would be reuired untill selonoid release. Great idea on the SLS compressor. They make the exact same cylinder unit in a dual action also. Momentary air pushes the cylinder in each direction..not spring loaded.
