Default CDL Help

I took apart my center console yesterday, so I can check if i had CDL. by the looks of the connection with the center bolt in the my images I posted, it looks like a CDL connection, right? but when I look at lever on the left side.... theres a metal piece that looks like it blocks the lever to move the left .... so wanted to know if thats supposed to be there... also wanted to know if this is a actual cdl linkage....im new!!

Yeah that's a CDL lever. Not sure about the blocking metal piece.

Yes you have CDL. And from the looks of it an 04 Disco, unless someone added the cable linkage to a 99-01. Does your console not have a label and **** that looks like this? What year is your truck?

Well reason I took this apart is because it wasnt moving to left and was thinking theres was no cdl connection ... But if it is a cdl libkage that means it was rust not making it move right? And yes i have that diff lock label sticker and on the ****... I have an 04 discovery

Everything looks fine, maybe lube everything up well and try to move the shifter. It doesn't move very far to the left before the CDL engages.

Does the shifter move at all? Can you shift to Low? Nothing looks out of the ordinary. Yes, certain it is has a lockable center diff with the factory CDL linkage. Here is a comparison of how the shifter looks in High/Unlocked vs. High/Locked. It doesn't have to move much.

High/Unlocked

High/Locked

And this should illuminate on the dash when locked.

This might be a stupid question but are you putting the car in Neutral Before you try move the CDL?

This might help give you an idea of what you are looking at:
