Default CDL Hi- Lo housing removal question

Hi has anyone used a D1 Hi- Lo housing in their Disco 2 when installing a D1 CDL shifter? I have one and wanted to see how easy it was to change out. It looks like a pain in a butt to do. Trying to weigh my options. I could use the housing, and won't have to bend the lever, or use a female rod end joint bearing and a screw without any bending. Hmmm what to do???
