Default CDL linkage..

I dunno what it is about these CDLs that just scares the phuk outta me. So new DII CDL with lock ability is in my 03. Now I'd love to add a linkage. I have read probably every write up out there on this, but for some reason im just worried. I plan on going to a junk yard in my very small spare time and would love to grab what I need and get.

So if I take a DI. Shifter what all must I take to make it work with my DII. Any special tools I should bring? I'm thinking obviously a drill..

So I'm gonna grab the whole upper portion of the linkage. What about the half that connects to the nipple, anything that I must not forget?

All can be removed from inside the vehicle correct?

First, are you saying you have an 03 that you installed a CDL t/case in, if so, what year is the t/case?
You need an entire D1 linkage if you plan on making it work.
Why not buy one one line?

I just put one in yesterday on my 2000 DII. I would try to get a shifter from an 04 if at all possible. That's what I got and it was very straight forward and not a tough job at all. The 04 linkage requires 0 modification if you get the 04 plate with it.

I'm just trying to get by as cheap as possible. So I can spend the money elsewhere
