CDL shifter and Cables
Hello fellow members. We have a 04 disco at local yard. I plan to go pull a bunch of goodies tonight. Thinking bout pulling the CDL linkages and shifter as well if easy enough and time permits, Any Tips on best approach for removal before I just go at her.
It's all pretty straightforward. Lots of disassembly inside the vehicle to get to the mechanism.
Make sure you get the plate that holds the shifter, and the clamps that go onto the transfer case itself. And pull the SLABS if you can.

Here is a good video for reference:
Some tips:
1) Heads up, be very carefully pulling out the transmission shifter **** (force fit). Make sure your face and nose are not directly on top of it when you are pulling on it to pry it off. A buddy was once accidentally surprised by the **** coming off suddenly and hit his nose with it.
2) Bring a drill and drill bits to drill out the rivets holding the center console plate. See 6:00 minute in the video.
3) The CDL sensor and harness connector(s) are also different on the 2004 compared with the 1999/2000.
