Default Center caps--99' Disco

I have lost two of them in the past month, not sure if they were stolen or simply came off (I found one of them that was coming off ever slightly).

I have not done anything with my tires. Btw, I have only 65K. For the two remaining caps, I used a black and red permanent marker to inscribe the words "This was stolen from XXXXX", inside the cap.

XXXXX reflects the license plate no. and last few VIN numbers, I know this will not stop some low-life or prankster kid from taking them, but hope they see the words and put them back. Mine are the ones with the green background.

I'd hate to be buying new (or even used caps) when that money can buy gas....but my question is: is there a way to better secure the caps to even prevent someone from easily removing them?

Expoxy? Super glue? Some kind of plastic or rubber gasket to jam the cap?

I got afew for my Disco I for about $5 from Atlantic British.

The green cap I think are more,, if you glue them when
they do have to come off for tire work it could peel the paint.

I checked I guess you have a Disco II?
The caps are alot more $18 each or $9 for the plain ones.

Hope you find the ones that like your caps.

After replacing four of these at $13 a piece on my 99 Disco, I put a bit of two part epoxy glue on the edges before installing and they have stayed in for the past six months. Give it a try.......

Put a small bead of silcone glue around the clips before you install them and they won't come off.

Silicone works good, and it'll still let the caps off without damage when it's time for new tires.

BTW: [sm=imsorry.gif], I just lost one that came off of my spare for the hi-lift mount. It's been in the rear storage bin for a month. If I find it I'll give it to ya.
