Default Center console removal

Im replacing my center console but i cannot get the plastic from the shifter off, is there a way to get the handle off like a secret allen wrench hole? Everything else is removable but that, any replies are appreciated!

No secret release. Pull straight up, just don’t wack yourself in the face once it breaks free. I thought I had broken my nose...

both eyes immediately teared up and I stumbled out of the truck and into the house. No joke I thought I had done some serious damage to my face, it was full force and the **** struck my directly on the side of my nose under my eye (passenger side or right side). I was also a bit dizzy.
