Hi all, I am considering buying a DII that is in Central Illinois. Does anyone have a recommendation for a mechanic to do an inspection? The car is in Taylorville, so anything in Springfield or Decatur would be perfect. Thanks!

 

I live in the Chicago's suburb. If anyone has a good indi mechanic for LR cars - that would be fabulous. Please share info if you know mechanics in the area.

Midwest Motors in Lake Zurich. Could be a haul depending where you're located but the mechanic there is good.

 

I used to live in Vandalia, IL until recently-- Your best bet is Springfield. do an internet search, there's at least one indy there, I can't remember the name. Or make the 90 mile trek to St. Louis, which probably isn't an option for a pre-purchase inspection.

Sorry, aside from Springfield, you're in the "poor" farming area of Illinois, outside of the St. Louis Metro East area, which is somewhat close by. So is the Champaign/Urbana or Bloomington/Normal areas, they'll have one.

 

I know everyone says avoid dealers but the Peoria land rover dealer is amazing. They have always done an excellent job with DII. Reasonable quotes they always give an estimate of what needs to be done vs what has to be done. He's even thrown in a pair of free used tires with an oil change when they noted 2 were shot.
