Default changing tire

do the little covers over the lugs on my tires just come off? Or is there some trick to it?

Nope. Those damn tin covers stay on.
You will need a hammer, Liquid Wrench and Chanel-Locks.
Spray the lug with the Liquid Wrench, hammer the tire tool onto the lug.
Remove the lug.
Use the Chanel Locks to remove the lug nut from the tire tool.

Move onto the next lug.

Those tin covers "stretch" and then the tire tool will not fit.
Thats what the hammer is for, to pound them back into shape.
You will be molding them with the tire tool.

If they are not destroyed yet a 27mm or 1 1/16" socket works fine to remove your lugs

Make sure you or your shop only uses the correct size socket or they will destroy the $22 a piece lug nuts.
