Default Cheap fix for subwoofer

Mine have been blown for sometime but I haven't been in any hurry to replace them because all the speakers I've seen are 2 or 3 way and all I wanted was a woofer. But today while I was at WalMart, I saw a cheap enclosed subwoofer for only $19.99. They were 6.5" so I figured, what the hell... I'll buy it and take out the speakers and trash the rest. Well, they're a perfect fit and the wire colors match too (scary). The amplifier wedges right in between the speakers and hasn't fallen out after slamming the door numerous times. All I really had to do was drill some holes in the plastic case to put the screws in to hold the speakers. The best part is they sound terrific!!! So for anyone that's cheap... uh, frugal, for $20 + tax you can get the bass back.

SDinDS because the issue of replacing the factory sub has come up a bunch of times can you get a part number or a link to the product on the walmart website that you are talking about?

Thanks

Can't find it on their website. It was next to the car stereo display with the rest of the speakers. It's a no-name brand.... just says "VR3 Stereo Speaker System 300 Watts." It looks like the model number is RTS3000T.

So the way I understand this is, that its a plug and play, I saw in the links that the factory amp is in the rear door, was it relcated there or has it always been there? Is our system powered enough to push this amp and is ours 4ohms? Mine is sounding distorted and a cheap good fix would be welcome.

I thru' in some old 6" woofers (not subs) that I had, they work, but if you don't mind , I'll just copy yours. LOL
