I like the exterior but not a fan of moving the spare tire or the interior. I think a series II is supposed to be rigged and utilitarian like an ole jeep *****'s but that's just me.

Hi Gerry, I'm certainly not a fan of the price for an old 68 truck.

 

It's hardly a '68 any more. Or even a Series II. More like an LR4 with Series II external body panels. And a monstrous price tag.
Which makes me wonder... at what point does something stop being considered one vehicle and start being considered the other?

 

True, the price and everything. Just so happened that I stumbled into one 1971 and got interested with the shape especially the look of the front end. I was thinking of keeping the old classic look entirely and swap the body only to a newer land rover chassis and engine. Though its just a dream, like what a said a dream. I ened up searching on a 1968 and got curious about the price and saw that uprgaded restoration. Ok, got to go to the nearest deli and get a lotto ticket. Cheers

Right around this point. An engine/trans swap, ok. Once you start moving over interior, I'd call it a resto mod.

That being said, all that money and time and they swapped in a pioneer radio. For that amount, I want the LR4 radio setup

 

Personally, I like it. The work on fitting it all looks very impressive. I can even imagine the work needed to mount that dash in there. As long as the craftsmanship is up to par it is an amazing build. I would happily do something similar to my 110 using LR3 guts

 

That's gorgeous. I find it interesting how they integrated the all terrain control system over all the other electronics as this actually controls the suspension, etc. The one thing that kills me is like DGI said, you couldn't just put the LR4 navi system in the car. That Pioneer radio looks like junk in there, I mean it had to be more of a pain in the neck to put in that radio instead of the stock rover display keeping it at least all symetrical
