After buying my D1 and noticing I actually had a bottle jack... I definitely checked it and is all good!
As for rebuilding one, why not just buy a new one? They are relatively cheap nowadays (I'm thinking Harbor Freight), as opposed to spending the time and money on a rebuild kit...

Zebra i could help you in your search for a factory jack! Let me know buddy. I like to have all my factory equipment in place too.

I noticed that my bottle jack wasn't working as expected, in so much that it took almost 20 pumps to move the piston an inch or so. Pretty indicative of a loss of hydraulic oil, so I refilled it, and before reinstalling it under the hood, decided to give it a quick test.
It went up just fine with the weight of the truck, but when I opened the release valve, just a hair like usual, everything came crashing down, fast. All the oil I'd just put in literally exploded from the base of the jack from around what looks like a seal.
Suffice to say, the jack is useless, and I urge everyone to check theirs. It's one of those things that we seldom use, and whose functionality we take for granted. If yours is devoid of oil, just throw it out.
Would hate to hear that someone got hurt or worse from a failed bottle jack as well.

i have 4 bottle jacks from a D2. None of them work. After hearing this story, I will buy a new one.
