Default Clicking sound from cabin fuse box flickering LCD

We had crazy rain falls last night. I had water inside on the floor both passenger and driver side. The ceiling is dry as a bone

when I started truck and drove, I noticed an intermittent clicking sound (almost sounds like turn signal) coming from what appears to he the fuse box area. Also when this happens the LED on the dash (where you see the odometer and gear position) flickers.

the truck seems to drive fine

1) what is the clicking and the flicking LED about

2) where the heck is this water coming from I used to have wet roof but I’ve pretty much patched up everything on top of the the truck where water can get in and there’s no more leak in the ceiling but this floor wetness has been happening

thanks in advance

Is the windshield cowl cracked? It's the piece on the botten of the front windshield. It keeps water from entering the dash area and if cracked or there is a gap, your ECU can get wet and fail.

We got our D2 for scrap price due to a similar (or same) leak. Water ran into the blower intake and all over the RH footwell. The ECU unfortunately (fortunately for me) got corroded and the vehicle wouldn’t start or run. I made a makeshift shield to prevent at least most of the water from entering the blower intake. I would try to fix the leak sooner than later.

So do you think the odometer clicking in and out is an ecu issue? What’s the fix?

I will have a look today. Did you have to replace ecu?

UPDATE

The cowl it’s self seems to be OK however the seal against the windshield in the bottom is probably 1/8 of an inch gapped.. I will get some marine seal today and try to seal that as we are expecting a big rainstorm tonight. There’s also what seems to be to machine cut holes on the metal part just pass the Plastic cowl. There is one on each side these appear to be factory made however I don’t know if there should be something they’re plugging them. I’m not referring to the large holes for the windshield wipers these are a small screw size holes

UPDATE

I got it all sealed up looks pretty ugly I have to say But she’s not a pretty truck anyway! Just add more character

hopefully that fixes the leak. Now the clicking noise that’s coming from the dash when the odometer blinks on and off I don’t think this clicking noise is coming from the fuse box at all it’s the same clicking noise you hear when you shift gears

Do you think the water corroded some sort of a ground cable. How should I be thinking and where should I be looking? I have no idea what this could be

Bump ?

this seems like maybe a backlight problem on the odometer lcd screen. Anyone have any thoughts?

I hope that fixed the leak. Another thing you might check is behind the outside panels in each footwell where the electricals for the door go through a little rubber grommet. I had water leaking into my driver side footwell whenever we got heavy rain. There is a drain hose in that part of the frame that could be leaking onto the wires and running through the grommet. There is also a piece of tape of some kind where the electricals exit the frame on the other side, if I remember correctly. The tape on mine had come partially unglued so I super glued it back on, and filled in that area and the rubber gasket on the inside with silicone (I got the silicone in between the wires as much as I could too to form a good seal). Not sure which one was the culprit or if it was a combination but that fixed my issue. I'm guessing the passenger side had exactly the same setup although mine wasn't leaking over there.

fixed most of it but still getting water on floor of passenger side only. I don’t feel anything wet anywhere but the floor. So no idea where it’s coming from. I will look at what you mentioned

I still have light wetness in the sunroof area. I sealed the crap out of the sunroof. No idea where it’s getting in lol
