"Clinking" from driver front wheel

Default "Clinking" from driver front wheel

Just noticed a fairly loud "clicking" noise coming from my front wheel when turning, doesn't do it when wheel is straight just when turning. Would this be the front hub?

I don't think the hub can make a clicking noise. Maybe your PAS pump?

Just replaced PAS about 2 months ago, and it is coming from front wheel, walked beside while moving and its coming from front wheel.

Bad CV joint.
You have probably heard older front wheel drive cars doing this too, replace the CV joint and all will be good again.
Your boot may be cracked/ripped and it allowed dirt and junk to get in there or it may just be worn out.
But seeing the age of your truck I am betting on a ripped CV boot.
Either way a new CV joint is in order.

yes I have heard CV's going bad on cars and this is not as loud or intense as that sound, boot seems to be ok from initial look but will look closer tomorrow. thanks

Check your lug nuts and make sure they are tight. Have you had the wheel off lately?

Yes I have, just replaced rotors, but torqued them back to specs, or I thought lol... will check that also

What did you torque your lug nut to?
As Spike has mentioned, you have a bad CV joint, usually the one failing is the one you are turning towards.
How mechanical are you?

I torqued them to 103 ft lbs,

I should be able to handle changing the CV joint, never done it on a Rover though

You might want to go down load a free Rave CD and follow the directions. The only special tool needed is one big socket for the axle bolt and maybe a big pry bar.
