Default Clock & Climate Control Removal

Taking a breather on the SAI chase... Any tricks to removing the clock and climate control panels on the Disco II without breaking something? Or special tools that make it easier? I tried pulling both today and neither one wanted to budge without a lot of flexing of the surrounding 16 year old plastic. Would like to change the light bulbs but I don't want to break something in the process... Got the ash tray out from under the clock assembly easily enough but the clock itself was a no-go. Saw several posts on changing the bulbs themselves but kinda skipped over the panel pulling part.

Suggestions/tips?

There are about a dozen you tube videos and the AB one which show how its done. Just depress the clips and pull it out.

Got it. And it would help if I was prying on the right parts--i.e. top & bottom vs sides... Ooops.

Thanks, guys!

I got the HVAC control unit out easily just be removing the radio and then pressing in the side latches on the sides of the HVAC box. It was surprisingly easy this way. It also gave me better access for stringing the microphone cable to my new stereo.
