Put an LED in it and forget about it.

...and no, it isn't. Not even close. Your odometer will need to be replaced. Unless someone has come up with an ingenious solution.

Truth be told, I have an entire gauge cluster you could get and just swap into place. Much easier just to do that.

The odometer is an LCD screen.

Yes. A backlit LCD. When the bulb burns out, replace it.

FYI the bulb in the clock is the same one used in a 1993-1998 3 series BMW dash cluster. BMW PN 62 13 1 383 311 $3.06 list price, might be more from a dealer. You can also use a 1.5w bulb, this is what I did because we were out of the 1.2w, BMW PN 62 11 1 391 260, list price is the same as the 1.2w. I keep my dash lights turned down very low so using the brighter bulb is not an issue for me but if you keep them turned all the way up you may want to run the correct 1.2w bulb.
I love this, just order some from ebay, pack of (6) BMW PN [COLOR=Blue]62 13 1 383 311 for just $10 I'm gonna need them for my 97 and 2000 Discos!! Love this forum!
