Default Clock - is it supposed to be backlit?

What time is it?
I picked my Disco 2 up a few weeks back. The clock is not backlit--and therefore pretty tough to read in almost any conditions. Is it supposed to be backlit, can it be? Please?

Yes, it is backlit when the ignition is on. Your bulb is probably burned out. Search forum for intructions on how to pull out the clock and replace the bulb. It is not difficult. When I bought my Disco I had to replace several instrument and shifter bulbs. You can get the bulb at http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/BAU5311L.cfm or your local Rover dealer.

I aslo recently replaced several intrument cluster and center console lights. 11 green and 3 orange mini bulbs. My clock back-light is also out. I did purchase a replacement bulb but haven't installed it yet.

How about the radio, is there a back-light for that? I can't see the radio display at night.

I have an Alpine CD player in mine. I still have the factory unit, so I will take a look at it and let you know how to change it.

Is it a serviceable or non-serviceable light?
