I have a 96 manual transmission D1.
The clutch is working fine.
The pedal is getting stuck half way on the return back when I release the pedal.
I actually have to put my foot behind the pedal to help it pop all the way back.
There is a spring on the pedal lever. The spring looks to be in ok shape but it could have lost its spring as well.

 

It finally stopped going into gear.
Took it to the shop. Had to replace the master and the slave cylinder. That resolved the problem.
