Default Code 9141

I get this 9141 code on my ultra gauge and I can figure out what to do to get it to stop. The internet tells me my code reader isn’t plugged in properly. Obviously it’s plugged in because it’s giving me the code. Any suggestions?

Have you tried unplugging and reconnecting? Is your battery voltage okay? Is your ignition switch turned to position 2?
These are the things that come to my mind.

Position 2 is Run. 1 is Accessory, 0 is Off.
