Default Code P0440...mechanic says purge valve malfunction

Are we talking about the idle air control valve?

Or you can supposedly use one for a 98-05 Hyundai Sonata. OEM part #28910-22040 or use this one: 2009 HYUNDAI SONATA Vapor Canister Purge Valve

I know this is a straight-thru and would thus require some tubing modifications, but...

Does anyone know if this will work on a D1?

Isn't the purge valve part of the charcoal canister in a DI?

I have AEL, so no.

http://www.bputah.com/Disco%20Parts/...e_ESR3980.html

It is obviously different since the input is perpendicular to the output, but I dont know if that affects anything functionality-wise.

Like I said, one would have to modify something to accept a straight-thru valve.

I guess the main question is...does anyone know for sure that it would NOT work?

$305? That sucks. It looks to be very similar but who knows. Changing the plumbing to make it work should be pretty easy, but have you tried cleaning yours out with carb cleaner? I sprayed out the one in my 1999 P38 after I got a code and it never came back. If that doesn't work, maybe someone with a DII would be kind enough to let you use theirs to check. Or you could take the chance and spend the $25 on a Hyundai one. If it doesn't work, I'm sure you can sel it to someone here or just keep it until you get a DII.
