Default Codes Codes Codes......

'96 DI SE7 5spd

The CEL threw out these codes at Autozone:

P1313 - "A" Camshaft Position Plausibility

P1316 - Spark plug voltage detection circuit fault

P0305 - Cylinder 5 Misfire

P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire

P0308 - Cylinder 8 Misfire

P0300 - Random Cylinder Misfire

Recently changed Plugs/wires to Platinum +4 and 8mm magnecore. Had a bit of a stumble before but now its getting considerably worse. Any ideas besides the CPS needing to be replaced? Thanks guys.

I will state the obvious and ask if you are positive wires are hooked up properly.

1313 is a damaged cat on the drivers side, 1316 is an excessive emission.
Do you remember what the codes were before you installed the new wires and plugs, have you recently clear the codes to see what will come back?

I got many of those except the position sensor one when I did the seafoam treatment. You do anything like that recently?

I don't remember what the codes were pre plugs/wires and yes all of the plugs and wires are hooked up correctly.

I've done 2 seafoam treatments, one before the plugs and one after to see if I could clear up the stumble.

I've got two new magnaflow cats sitting in my garage ready to be welded in, just need to find the time to do it.

I cleared the codes out yesterday at autozone and these came back. Any ideas fellas?

Adam, first, don't replace the cam sensor, your code information is wrong and it is not needed.
What octane gas are you burning? Might want to do a compression test to rule out low compression as an issue.

Were the codes cleared before the seafoam? That treatment, although effective does cause misfires and other things to remain in memory. So you did 2 treatments and the codes cleared both times and came back?

I'm burning 92-93 octane fuel.

I did two seafoam treatments, cleared the codes and then these came back. I'll do a compression test this weekend to see whats up.

Also, I put a timing gun on my plug wires and I'm getting intermittent firing from almost all of them. Would that indicate coils?

Anything else I should check out while I'm under there?
