Default Coils

Has anyone relocated their ignition coils to somewhere that they're actually accessible when needed? Having a plug end fall apart today on brand new wires really makes me think the stock location on the D2 is really a very poor one.

Unless you seal it somehow, it is the least likely place to get splashed with water when running through puddles......just a thought

That's a very good point. Also, if they do get wet where they are now or a wire gets torn somehow, say a porcupine decides it would make a nice meal (and this is not rhetorical, it happens) then getting to them is a 4 hour job that requires new gaskets etc, which is just not a good idea.

One thing I do need to know if you do, is the length of the wire on the left rear plug. One of the clips pulled off mine and I need to tell them how long the replacement needs to be.

I just replaced all of my wires with magnecore 8.5s - Without removing the intake manifold. It’s simple.

I’ll post a thread on how to create access to the coils today. It’s a 20 minute procedure and your in!!!

Yes, on a D1 or a D2 without SAI they're more reasonable to get to. With SAI you have zero access from above without taking a lot off.

I meant I couldn't tell you the length of the wire. Mine are different lengths.
