Default Cold Start Idle Too Fast

Hello,
I recently stripped down and replaced the head gaskets on my year 2000 4.6 ltr Thor engine.
Everything ran perfectly before the strip-down (apart from the blown head gasket).
I now find that when starting from cold, the revs shoot straight up to 2500-3000 rpm.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received because it never did that before strip-down.
Kind regards,
Tony

Check throttle cable adjustment and CC cable adjustment.

Sounds like what happens on D1s when the TPS gets shifted and gives a higher signal than baseline. Fixed by resetting the adaptive trims, or by rotating the TPS to read lower than baseline. Don't know if that problem propagated to D2s.

I just did head gaskets and this happens every time I’ve done it. It’s the throttle cable.

Thank you.
Would you mind letting me know what you do to rectify it the times it's happened to you please as it looks fine on mine?

It shouldn't be taught with the motor off, should be able to press on both throttle and CC cable and there should be some play before you actually cause the throttle open.
