Looking to get a price comp for the comet 6 spoke wheels. A seller I spoke to claimed they go to $200 per wheel, which would be $1000 for a set of 5. Seems high to me looking at other wheels, such as hurricane, etc. Also claims they’re made in Italy hence the higher price. Any info would be welcome.

 

I’ve seen full sets of 5 with tires for $2-300 on Facebook marketplace.

Those are missing the center caps too (or, at least, the top one is)

 

Right on... that price sounds much more reasonable.

Any links to sets for sale would be helpful to show the seller.

I got mine online from a wheel re-finisher site for $480 a few years back. They were repainted and looked brand new. I'd also keep an eye out on ebay, craigslist and fb marketplace.

 

Last set of Comets I bought = $50.00 for all 5 in mint shape with center caps and lug nuts.

 

Sheesh! No offense to the seller of this particular set, but he’s way out of range charging $200/wheel, judging by everyone else’s prices! Especially with no center caps and tires.

I mean the wheels weren't as common as the 18inch Hurricane or 18inch Proline wheels, but most people honestly did not care for the Comet wheels when they were new and on HSE D2's. I think they look gross with stock AT sized tires on them personally. IMHO they only really look good with a nice say 275/65R18 BFG KO2 or aggressive sidewall tire with more meat on it vs the lower profile with the stock size tires, but that's me. The Hurricane wheel just looks good either way.
