Default Considering 03 se

I have found an 03 disco with 144k on it owner claim to have all service bulletins up to date as well as new fluids in all diffs. British Atlantic head gasket recently done. 3" terra firma lift. 18" range rover rims with nitto terra grappler tires
asking 5 k. Is this too much? I can find many cheaper ones but none have any service records or have salvaged titles both of which make me nervous. I'd rather pay a little more for a vehicle that I know some history on.
thanks for any input
Randy

Location? Run a carfax looking for rust belt history - pass if it has ever been a rust belt car as the frame will be trashed.

If it is in good shape probably worth that much depending on equipment and condition.

If your are going to own one of these, get a code reader now and take it with you on the test drive. note any alarms or pending alarms and the coolant temperature as you go on the test drive. Make sure you drive 30 minutes or more both highway and street.

And as mentioned, look underneath for any signs of rust on the frame rails.

The dash bulbs have a sequence when the key is turned to position two. they all light up for a few seconds so you know the bulbs work. Make sure they all light up. If they don't chances are there has been some tampering to hide an issue.

I have 2 readers will bring obd327 for test drive. I have no illusions of finding a trouble free disco. But I do want as few surprises as possible.

What is your location ??
I just purchased a 03 se and very happy only 119 km
make sure you go for a good 30 min drive and check temps

I made the mistake and bought one that had extensive service history however oem Tstat installed and temps were up to 215-225

guess what after a few days I started hearing a tick tick liner liner
however I got my temps down to 200 and it seems fine

the only thing I miss is the 4x4 lock
