Considering purchase of a 1999 Disco, questions?
Hi,
Im looking at purchasing a 1999 Disco 1 with 107,000 miles
was just wondering if an experience LR owner could let me know what kinds of questions I should be asking the dealer, and if it's worth the $5,400 that their asking for. The vehicle is in near perfect aesthetic shape. Im just nervous about the 107k miles.
There is also a 2001 Disco SE at the same dealership that has 100,400, and they're asking $8,900 for it. Just wondering what you pros think.
Thanks

Well as what to ask about, just ask the usual used car questions.
Check the book value of the truck before you plop down any money.

Test drive it and take notes, if the check engine light is on then while on the test drive take it to a autoparts store and they can read the codes for free.
ALL Land Rovers require premium gas.
The DI will be cheaper to maintain and repair than the DII but the DII is bigger and will ride nicer.
Do not let the miles scare you, we have a guy on here with a '94 and 300,000 miles on his truck, another guy has a DII with 190k and it is still his daily driver.
Do a search for my thread "what to look for when buying a Discovery) and that will help you on what to look for.

No CO is not the highest priced area for LR's.
There is lots of demand for 4x4's in other parts of the country too.
That is dealer pricing for my zip code.
