Default Console mat

Is there some trick to getting them out to put new ones in or clean them? Does the plastic shroud thing for the shifter pop up or do I just stretch the mat to pull it up and over it?

I'd rather think about it ahead of time than break the stupid plastic piece.

Mike! you dont remember the little trick i showed you!

Put the parking brake on, and put the shifter into Neutral, you can get a straight pull up on the shifter this way....just be prepared for your hand to go through the sunroof when she lets loose.

Then pull up gently on the perimeter of the base. The leather gator around the t-case lever pops out as well.

No need to remove the shifter to get the mat out. To get the black mat out of the console, just pry up on the shift indicator a little and until can see one of the inside edges of the center opening in the mat. Pull/stretch it to one side, and pull it up and then wiggled the rest out. Works the same for the transfer case. To put it back in just reverse the process, and then adjust it to the corners of the center console to center it back in.

The e-brake boot is held in by compression. There is a piece of metal that goes around the perimeter that the leather boot wraps around. I would remove the switches next to it so you can get it out easier the first time, then take the metal out of the old boot and glue the new boot too it.

Took me 5 minutes beginning to end last night. The high low shifter popped up with a yank. I put the key in, powered on, pulled the ebrake on, shifted to neutral (shifter straight up vertical) and got that off.

Take it inside, give it a good wash in the sink, back outside and 15 seconds to put it all back together.
