Default Coolant change?! One unanswered question

Im slowly checking off my list for my coolant change as do research and Ive settled on a method for flushing it, which will be a repeated drain and fill with distilled water then filling with PEAK (OAC) 50/50. But there is one question I havent found an answer for.

After the final drain, how much distilled water remains in the block?

Im not super concerned about not have exactly a 50/50 mix but I dont want to be way off either. Thanks

Depends on how well you drain it. I would measure how much water you drain out and subtract that from what the system holds.
Are you alos replacing the t/stat and the pressure cap. how many miles on the engine and where is your bleed screw located?

Thanks Mike for the prompt response.
I have a Motorad 180 in the mail and I will pick up a cap as well. My 03 Disco has 85k miles on it and the bleed screw is right on top of the T fitting on the rad top tube.

If you are worried about how much distilled will be left in the engine, buy one bottle of straight coolant which you will add first and a bottle of 50/50 to top it off .

get a specific gravity gauge for $5 at the autoparts store.
If it is protecting down to -20 or so you are fine.

There will be maybe a pint of straight water left in the block and heater core.
Not enough to make a difference for 95% of the people out there.
