coolant leak, time to look deeper
So I went ahead and loosened the bolts. Pulled it back a little and then pushed back in to see if it loosened it to where I could turn the gear and slide it back on the key. No luck, I can't get it to turn or slide any further back on the shaft. I don't have the tool the rave talks about but I tried to use a short hand screw driver to slide it around and that didn't work. It still looks like it will rub the gasket between the gear and viscous fan. Any help is appreciated. I've had this thing apart for too long and would actually like to drive it before Christmas, lol.
So guys, putting the timing cover back on. Got it on and the gear that goes on the shaft slid out some. I pushed it back in but do not know if it is on the key right. It is flush with the indention for where the shaft gasket will go. Take a look at the picture. It seems like it would rub the gasket as it turns. Do I need to take it off and start again?
