coolant leak on top of motor
I got a bad coolant leak that is coming from the top of the motor somewhere. I can see what looks like a tempature switch and a hose from the throttle body. Can't tell if its them because there blocked by the compressor and intake manifold. Is there any other hoses on the top under the intake? The water ends up out the back top of the motor runs out the back of the motor down the passanger side exhaust manifold. The thing is it doesn't do it all the time. So help me here, does the throttle body gets water all the time or is it tempature operated? I'm trying to find a common for why it's not doing it all the time. If it were a head gasket would it be all the time? It only seems to do it when it heats up. I check the oil and found no water. Thanks for the help

It leaks when it heats up because it's under much more pressure. Lots of hose connections at the throttle body. 1 short hose from thetb to the top of the engineand one long hose from the tb to the expansion tank and these connections can leak. There is another larger connection (metal pipe)at the top of the engine too that can leak. You would have to pull the intake or the power steering pump and alternator to get at those 2 connections I believe, check those out.
Throttle body heater plate gasket.
