Instead os spinning your wheels, call me and let me walk you thru exactly what to look for .
I would not drive the truck any more or yes, you could drop a sleeve and will then need a new engine.

Default Disco ll 2000 160K HG replaced, still leaking

Hi Everyone, have same problem, overheating, loosing coolant in to oil. So far this is wht I have done:
  • when took head gaskets off they looked dry and 100 OK
  • Replaced Head Gaskets (took to machine shop)
  • Finished job but still same leak
  • Dye test done with no findings at all
  • Multiple misfire code
Pretty frustrated (although admit that it was a great experience with HG job since is my first time besides breaks and oil change) mechanic that did my die test suggested that i need new engine but I refuse to before exhausting all other possibilities which for what I have read are:

a) Oil radiator line leak
b) Lower intake Manifold
c) Cracked block (HOPE NOT)

I will greatly appreciate any HELP...Thanks

IM gasket or front cover gasket.
Most probably the latter, a simple fix.

Thanks for the quick responce, I'm not experience so excuse my questions,

  • IM gasket is the Intake Manifold which will be Valley pan gasket? (I put a brand new one when I did the Heads). And I guess we are referring to lower manifold
  • Front Cover gasket?
I will greatly appreciate your help

thanks

Right, IM = intake manifold. If you did the valley gasket then you should be good.
Front cover is in the front of the engine. It is common for the gasket to give and dump coolant in your oil pan. The water pump sits on your front cover.

Default Front cover

Do you know under what title should I look for the directions in the Workshop Manual?

Gasket - timing gear cover.
Consider replacing the water pump and thermostat at this time as well. Also flush your coolant system and fill up with something like Peak coolant.
