$550 for parts if you do it yourself, about $2k if you have it done.

So, Bundu...

I see the complete head gasket kit -- looks like it's about 30 gaskets -- for $169 at RoverParts. What else are you including in $500?

Head bolts, hoses, coolant, water pump, spark plug wires, spark plugs, oil, oil filter, serp belt & other bits and pieces that might be broke, plus any machining you need on the heads. You will find it all adds up pretty quickly...
You may of course reuse all your old parts (except the head bolts) and find your water pump starts leaking right after your engine has warmed up.

In short: all the other stuff you ought to do anyway while the engine's apart.

Got it.

In my particular case, the water pump was just done about 8000 miles ago, but I see your point. Thanks for the complete-ish list, though; it'll save the next guy asking, too.

I hope I don't get in trouble for saying this, but I HATE LAND ROVER.

I will get Honda Accord or Camry.

Dude relax. I was just expressing how I was feeling having all these troubles with landrover. I still think it is great car, but costs alot to fix it.

And about pissing and moaning, I didn't know that was possible over the NET.

Bundu,

Thanks, but I wouldn't go that far of calling me a "Landrover hater". The word "hate" is kind of strong. "Dislike" maybe a better term.

I think the better term for you is a troll, textbook example.
