Coolant Refill Issue
A thermostat is closed when cold so the only coolant flow thru it will be thru the tiny weep hole. Remove bleeder from the upper T & and either fill thru there or fill thru the reservoir until it flows out of the T.

I like to remove the bleeder screw and tank cap and then squeeze the top hose to push air out of the bleed hole. Then, cover the hole with your finger and release the hose - it'll suck the coolant in from the tank. Easier than trying to pour coolant into the tiny bleed hole.

I just filled it through the bleeder hole. Didn't feel like messing with the reservoir. Engine seems to be doing fine but taking it into my local guru to give it a once over.

Thanks to all those who give advice, I’ve not done any maintenance on cars in over 10 years, just did the throttle bypass and replaced top hoses and thermostat, I’ve read and done the trick of lifting the overflow tank till water comes out the bleed screw hole.
that was yesterday , took out the bleed screw was a little air and topped up through the hole with coolant, can’t believe how much fun this is

Are you following the RAVE procedure for filling and bleeding the cooling system? Releasing and raising the coolant reservoir so the bottom of it is above the bleed screw? Opening the bleed screw and filling from the reservoir until coolant flows from the bleed screw opening?
The RAVE procedure has never failed me. No need to raise the front of the truck. No need to stand on one leg while whistling the theme from The Andy Griffith Show. Ni need to wear a tin hat. No need to fill from the bleed screw.

I used to raise my truck, bleed it, and be done without moving any bottle.
Factory stat.
Driving the truck up a hill is far easier than lifting the bottle and doing all the fill through the bleed hole...
Just sayin.
